Craziest Bucket-List Experiences You Can’t Miss

Crossing Balochistan region, Pakistan

These are the craziest bucket list experiences we have had so far and here is how you can do it as well.

Bucket list experience can be a hike to Machu Picchu or a yoga retreat in India. And we have loved experiences like these ones. But today we will share about places we did not know existed and that every traveler like you and me would be able to experience anything like it.

These are one of our most interesting stories from around the world about our experience (and some are so insane that we cannot believe we lived through them ourselves).

Crossing Balochistan region in Pakistan

For 7 days we had an armed guard and an escort vehicle from the border of Iran-Pakistan all throughout the Balochistan area of Pakistan. Find out how it went and why in the end we had to escape the Pakistani police.

Swimming with Sharks in the Maldives

Maldives is a place where swimming with sharks is a very popular activity even though it sounds counterintuitively scary (as there is NO cages). How did Joe manage his fear of the open ocean and sharks in general?

Cruising on the Amazon River on a Cargo Ship in Peru

Did you know that for a small cost, you can take a multi-day boat-ride in Peru from Yurimaguas to Iquitos (a jungle city with half a million people and no roads connecting it to the rest of the world). You hang your hammock, look at the Amazon rainforest surrounding you and experience something out-of-this-world.

Walking Safari with Rhinos and Tigers in Nepal

When thinking about the word safari - usually you’d envision a jeep driving around in Africa but adventuring in the wilderness and trying to catch a glimpse of the rarest wildlife is an exciting journey. But surprisingly, in Chitwan, Nepal it is possible to go on a walking safari in a National park full of rhinos, tigers and elephants. And as seeing rhinos is almost even granted in Chitwan, to see a tiger, we’d recommend Ranthambore national park’s Jeep safari.

And how about the danger and gun-men protecting you as in Africa? Well, there is none.

Playing with colors at Holi in India

If you can imagine the most colorful day you have ever seen in your life, then Holi festival is that multiplied by 10. The Holi festival happens once every year around March (the exact date is dependant on full-moon) in India. Bigger festivities in Northern part of India but also in the south and some also in Nepal.

In many places it lasts several days with different ceremonies and concerts all around the town and on the main day, people play holi - meaning throwing colorful powders and wishing each-other Happy Holi! It might get intense as a tourist but it definitely is an experience to remember.

Climbing an Active Volcano in Guatemala

When thinking of crazy things we have done, this one is definitely one of the most memorable. In Guatemala from Antigua, it is possible to hike up to an active volcano.

The first part of the walk takes you to Acatenango at almost 4000m, the inactive one of the twin-volcanoes and then it is possible to continue the walk to Fuego or stay at camp and admire the volcano actively bursting out lava, smoke and gas. As the interval is 5-20 minutes depending on the volcano’s activity, you are definitely going to see a volcano burst its insides.
